We are expecting HMRC to step up their activity in these areas once the emergency measures are eased and especially in areas such as employer compliance and VAT where the greatest help has been given.
Attention can also be expected on the accountancy side to reflect the accountancy aspects of the financial assistance received and areas such as directors’ loan accounts.
In this respect, I would like to draw your attention to our fee protection insurance cover, DTprotect, which covers our costs in dealing with any HMRC intervention.
If you have already joined DTprotect then you are automatically covered through to the expiry of the current policy year on 30 September and you will be invited to auto-renew ahead of the start of the new cover year.
If you have not taken out DTprotect then I would strongly recommend that you consider doing so; cover takes effect from the date of payment.
