What is Campbell’s of Leyburn?
Campbell’s of Leyburn is an award-winning, family-owned supermarket and world-class wine retailer that has been providing stress-free supermarket shopping to the people who live in, and visit, the Yorkshire Dales since 1868.
Campbell’s is a visitor-attraction in its own right with a thriving Wine Club, an in-store events area, renowned traditional butchery and Deli among the features that attract visitors from far afield.
How/Why did you begin to work with Davies Tracey?
Having felt rather let down by my previous Accountancy providers, I was determined to research the market thoroughly before taking the decision to appoint a new accountant. From my research I was impressed by the wide range of services provided by Davies Tracey and their mission statement summed up exactly what I was expecting of an accountant. I approached Davies Tracey and having met Craig Davies I was particularly impressed by his knowledge, his friendly yet professional attitude and it was clear that he had built up a wide skilled team.
How have we met your expectations?
Craig has been at the helm of the company and has done an excellent job in maintaining a seamless service despite times of change both within his business and within my business.
Have we helped with any particular challenges?
I run an independent Supermarket employing 25 people. Following my husband’s death a few years ago I became sole Director in the company. I had to become a lot more involved with the accountancy side of the business and during this period Craig was an invaluable source of support. Despite the fact that I took a period of time off work to support my children I was not concerned about accountancy issues as I had total faith in Craig and his team. Because Craig had been so hands on with managing our accounts he was able to lead me in the right direction even though I wasn’t sure myself what that was!
In addition, Craig’s team also provide book keeping and payroll services for me. I took on an office administrator, Jo, who was a total beginner to both payroll processes and Sage when she joined my company. Jo was able to pick up the use of Sage and understand the payroll processes very quickly thanks to the knowledge and guidance of Davies Tracey staff.
What service do you find most useful?
We use the Davies Tracey payroll service for both monthly and weekly payrolls. The service provided by Sarah and her team is reliable, accurate and timely. We had a number of issues with our pensions provider Now Pensions following Auto Enrolment. Sarah liaised with them on our behalf to ensure that they corrected information held on their systems. Thanks to Davies Tracey we have been able to transfer staff on to electronic communications which has saved both time and money. All data is transferred to us via a secure online portal which ensures that the data is secure and there are no data protection issues. Sarah is very forward thinking and is always striving to develop the service she provides to us.
How would you describe our approach?
Throughout all of my dealings with the office I have found the staff to be knowledgeable, professional and polite and they most certainly put an emphasis on providing first class customer service.
I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending the Davies Tracey team as providers of accountancy, Personal and Corporation Tax, business advisory and payroll services.
